Overview
The Work Orders settings page allows you to set some fields within the work order as required. Access these by going to the Settings, on the top right corner of your screen where the company name appears click on that. Then, select Settings on the left side navigation and click Work Orders at the top of that screen.
The following options are available to toggle on/off:
Require Approval for New Lines: When on, new work order lines require approval. When off, they are auto-approved.
Require Receiving Parts Before Completion: When on, receiving ordered parts is required to complete a work order. When off, complete now and receive later.
Require Picking Inventory Parts: inventory parts must be picked as part of the work order workflow. Previously named Automatically pick inventory parts; the wording is inverted so every setting on the page reads Require, and your shop's stored behavior was flipped to match, so nothing changes for you." and "Require ordering parts: new in this release, defaulting to your current behavior.
Require Review Before Completion: Work orders must be reviewed and signed off before they can be completed
Require Tech Story: Tech story will be a required field before a line can be completed on a work order.
Require Mileage: Mileage will be a required field before a line can be completed on a work order.
Require Engine Hours: Engine hours will be a required field before a line can be completed on a work order.
After making changes, click Save Settings to finalize.
A settings change now applies to every open work order, not just new ones. You will be asked to confirm, and told what it will do, before it takes effect.
