Setting up a Payment Terminal

Reset & Pairing Instructions for your Stripe S700 Terminal

Connect the Terminal Reader to ShopView

Before you start, make sure:

• Your reader is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the device you'll be using ShopView on

• You have admin access in ShopView

• Your ShopPay account is active and connected to Stripe

First, Create a Pairing Code on the Reader

1. Power on the S700 and let it fully boot up.

2. Swipe right from the left edge of the screen to open the side menu.

3. Tap Settings.

4. Enter the admin PIN: 07139

5. Tap Generate Pairing Code.

6. The reader will display a pairing code on screen — keep this visible, you'll need it in the next step.

Then, Register the Reader in ShopView

1. Log in to your ShopView Customer Portal.

2. Navigate to ShopPay → Point of Sale.

3. Click Register Reader.

4. Enter the pairing code from your S700.

5. Select the location this reader belongs to.

6. (Optional) Add a label, like "Front Counter" or "Bay 2," so you can identify it later if you have multiple readers.

7. Click Save.

The reader should appear in your registered readers list with an "Online" status. You're ready to take payments.

Factory Reset the Stripe S700 Terminal

There are two ways to factory reset the device. Try the menu method first — it's the cleaner option. Only use the hardware button method if the screen is unresponsive or you can't access the menu.

Method A — Reset Through the Settings Menu (Recommended)

1. Make sure the reader is powered on and unlocked.

2. Swipe right from the left edge of the screen to open the side menu.

3. Tap Settings.

4. Enter the admin PIN: 07139

5. Tap Advanced.

6. Tap Factory Reset, then tap Reset Device to confirm.

7. The reader will restart on its own. Wait until it powers back on and shows the initial setup screen.

Method B — Reset Using Hardware Buttons (Only if Method A fails)

1. Hold the power button (right side) AND both volume buttons at the same time — all three buttons at once.

2. Keep holding for about 15 seconds, until the Factory Reset prompt appears on the screen.

3. Confirm Yes to factory reset. Wait for the reader to restart.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If the reader isn't detected after entering the pairing code:

• Confirm the reader and your computer/tablet are on the same Wi-Fi network

• Check that your network isn't using client isolation (most guest networks do — switch to your main shop network)

• Make sure VPNs are turned off on the device running ShopView

• If you're behind a corporate firewall, confirm TCP ports 443 and 4443 and UDP port 53 are open

If the reader frequently disconnects after pairing:

• Move the reader closer to the Wi-Fi access point

• Check Wi-Fi signal strength on the reader (Settings → WiFi)

Note: ShopView is only compatible with the Stripe S700 Terminal currently
