This report is commonly used for:
Monthly sales reviews
Revenue tracking
Labor performance monitoring
Advisor or department meetings
End-of-period reporting
What the Sales Report Shows
Each row in the report represents an invoice that was closed during the selected timeframe. For each invoice you will see:
1. Customer
The customer the invoice was billed to.
2. Invoice Details
The invoice number, close date, and key financial figures for that invoice.
3. Billing Efficiency (%)
Shows how well the shop billed its labor hours relative to clocked technician hours.
4. Effective Labor Rate (ELR)
Calculated as: Total labor dollars invoiced ÷ Total technician hours clocked
5. Total Invoice Amount
The total dollar value of the work invoiced.
6. Labor, Parts, and Other Sales Data
Labor invoiced, labor margin, parts invoiced, parts cost and margin, and overall profit and margin, summarized at both the invoice and report level.
Summary Totals (Bottom of the Report)
At the bottom of the report, ShopView displays overall totals for the selected period, including:
Total sales revenue
Total billed hours
Overall billing efficiency
Total labor hours clocked
Total labor revenue
Total parts revenue
These numbers allow managers to instantly understand the financial performance of the shop for the selected period.
Using Date Filters
The Sales Report supports the same date filters as other reports, such as:
Today
This Week
This Month
Last Month
Custom date range
Filtering updates all values in real time. For example, selecting Last Month shows every invoice closed in that month along with the total invoice amount and summary statistics for the period.

Billing efficiency highlights whether the shop is capturing all of its billable labor.
3. What is our Effective Labor Rate (ELR)?
Shows the actual realized labor rate after accounting for:
Estimates
Adjustments
Billing decisions
Technician performance
4. Are parts and labor balanced appropriately?
A healthy mix supports profitability.
Connection to Advisor & Technician Performance
While the Sales Report is a high-level financial tool, it uses the same underlying labor data as:
Technician Efficiency Report: Measures how technicians perform against the Tech Hours assigned to them
Advisor Analysis Report: Measures how advisors bill and estimate work
The Sales Report is the financial output of those performance inputs.
When to Use the Sales Report
Monthly Revenue Tracking: Quickly view all invoices closed in a given month.
Business Performance Reviews: Identify trends in billing efficiency or declining ELR.
Advisor & Department Meetings: Share sales totals and labor performance.
Financial Forecasting: Use historical sales to project upcoming workload and revenue.
