Six New Reports: Overview

Six new reports cover technician utilization, work in progress, sales by customer and by representative, inventory value, and parts velocity, all with the same filters, column controls, and exports.

Overview

The 26.35.0 release adds six reports, each answering a question you could previously only get at by exporting invoices and building a spreadsheet. You will find them in the Reports section, listed under the previous reports.

The six reports

Performance

  1. Technician Utilization: how much of each technician's clocked time went to billable work orders versus internal jobs, with the whole team side by side. It also puts a dollar figure on the non billable hours.

  2. Work In Progress: every open job on the floor and the money tied up in it, split into work already earned and work still to do. Separate tabs show what is ready to invoice today and what has not started, and the longest open jobs sort to the top.

Sales

  1. Sales By Customer: revenue per customer over a period, opening up to each vehicle and then each invoice, with labor and parts margin at every level.

  2. Sales By Representative: what each rep sold, the margin on it, and whether hours billed matched hours worked. Work orders now carry a Sales Rep field that feeds this report.

Parts

  1. Inventory Value: what is sitting on your shelves right now, at cost and at sell price, sliced by category or vendor. You can also value the shelf as of an earlier date.

  2. Parts Velocity: which parts actually move and make money, ranked by how often they sell. Special order parts appear next to stocked ones.

How they all work

  1. Choose a date range and narrow by location. If you have access to multiple locations, you can check several at once.

  2. Pick the columns you care about with the Column Selector. Your choices persist for you and do not affect other users. Filter and column choices are remembered in the browser you set them up in.

  3. Drill in where you see an expand arrow. Rows link through to the underlying records, such as a work order, an invoice, or a timesheet activity, when the location matches.

  4. Export to PDF or CSV. Printouts, expanded views, and summaries respect the filters on screen, and exports record the filters you used in the file itself, so a report you forward is never ambiguous.

Permissions

The reports require the Reports permission. Anyone who can open Reports today can open all six; there is no per report permission.

Good to know

  1. Sales By Representative starts crediting invoices from the moment reps are assigned. Past invoices are not backdated to a rep.

  2. Inventory Value can only look back to August 24, 2026, when ShopView started recording daily shelf values. Dates before that come up empty.

  3. Work In Progress totals leave out tax, so a job's total there will not match the total on the work order itself.
