Technician Utilization Report

See how much of each technician's clocked time went to billable work orders versus internal jobs, with the whole team side by side and a dollar figure on the non billable hours.

Overview

The Technician Utilization Report shows how much of each technician's clocked time is productive. Instead of checking one technician at a time, you see the whole team side by side, and the report puts a dollar figure on the hours that did not go to billable work.

You will find it in the Performance section of the Reports tab.

Utilized vs. unutilized time

  1. Utilized Time: time when a technician is punched onto a job (a work order line).

  2. Unutilized Time: time when the technician is clocked into a department instead, such as shop cleanup, parts pickup, or other internal activity.

Estimated Lost Labor

The Estimated Lost Labor column turns internal hours into dollars. It is calculated as internal hours multiplied by the shop's default labor rate, so you can see what non billable time is costing at billing rates.

Filters

  1. Date range.

  2. Technicians: a multi select, so you can compare any subset of the team.

  3. Locations: if you have access to multiple locations, you can include several at once.

Drilling in

Expand a technician's row to see the activity behind their numbers. Entries link to the specific timesheet activity when the location matches, so you can go from a number straight to the punches behind it.

Columns and exports

Use the Column Selector to show or hide columns. Your choices are saved for you and do not affect other users. Export to PDF or CSV as a Summary (collapsed) view or an Expanded (uncollapsed) view. Exports respect the filters applied on screen and record them in the file.

Good to know

  1. Anyone who can open Reports can open this report. There is no per report permission.
